Shane Coursen started as Associate Software Engineer for Symantec Corporation in 1992. Since 1995 he has held senior research positions with several major antivirus vendors, including Kaspersky Lab, Fortinet Inc., Trend MICRO, McAfee & Dr Solomon's Software. In that time Coursen spent hundreds of hands-on hours looking at all types of malware at the lowest possible levels, disassembling it, documenting how it works and how to detect and eradicate it.

From 1994 to 2002 Coursen managed a project named The Joe Wells WildList. The 'job' (it was volunteer) was to collect reports and samples from a global list of contributing reporters. Collectively, the reports told us where computer viruses were being discovered, where they were propagating, and which had become prevalent. Analysis of the samples led to the creation of an industry standard virus sample library, and more importantly a rock-solid method (at least it was at the time) of monitoring and tracking the global virus threat. The WildList is still used today in most antivirus product certifications.

If you suspect foul play inside of your computer give me a call. Closely following Liam Neeson's dialog in the 1988 movie, Taken:

"I have a very particular set of skills, skills that I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for"...Malware and other things that attempt to hide inside of a computer.
